“The Prophet” is at the 2018-9 season opening with Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) and Zubin Mehta

 

   

The new 2018-9 season of the world famous Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) under the great maestro Zubin Mehta was opened with Uri`s symphonic poem The Prophet, featuring big symphonic orchestra, solo piano and mixed choir. The piece was performed with a great success in six concerts around the country.
It is worth mentioning, that the piece was composed when composer was 14 years old and was then revisited some 25 years later, adding a choir part and elaborating the score.
